Contractor was set to pour concrete sw on north side of 4th Street. I called the contractor before leaving the office to check if he was still planning on pouring with the weather (rain) moving in. The contractor indicated he still intended to pour at 9. At 730 as I was passing Bolivar the contractor called me back to say the weather was coming in faster than he had anticipated. Rescheduled pour for Monday at 9. I turned around to return to the office.
I received verbal and email approval for the change order to add 2 flagpole bases and capped sleeves from Jim McDiarmid. Called Scot to let him know and emailed Scot the change order for his signature when I returned to the office.
At 3:00 James Sutton called me; he happened to be in the area and drove through the job site and noted that the Contractor was placing concrete. I called the Contractor. When he called me back he stated that his big pour that was scheduled for today (and postponed) is still set for Monday (or possibly tomorrow - he will let me know). The weather moved through and he had an opportunity to continue progress on the project and fill in some gaps and complete a section of curb and gutter that will prevent drainage issues. I informed him that he still needs to inform us and keep us posted as to what is occurring. I discussed the situation with Jerany and we agreed to allow the concrete to remain in place unless there is an issue with it in the future of the project. I then called James to let him know what had happened.
